Fisher's Ghost StudiosThere are four of us, in Campbelltown on the south-western edge of Sydney. Our rugby league game, Foundation Footy, comes out on Steam on 20 November. Before that we made Chess Girl, which you can play here for nothing.
Proper chess with all the rules, for kids who've been told it isn't for them. There are eighteen lessons and fourteen opponents to work through (the first is a unicorn who can't play at all), and six rainbow boards to pick from. It runs in the browser and it's free.
Rugby league from 1908 to 1947, seen from above. Every NSWRFL club from those years is in it, along with Brisbane, the Northern Union and the Test sides, and you can play the computer, a mate on the same keyboard, or someone online. It's on Steam from 20 November 2026 for Windows and Linux. We're still playtesting in our Discord, so come and have a game before then.
A free, open-source revival of QuakeWorld Team Fortress, the 1996 mod that class-based shooters came from. There's a modern client, the original maps and classes, and pick-up games most nights. It's a community project and the code is on GitHub.
First-person boxing you play with the mouse. The punch goes where you click, and your gloves come up by themselves whenever you aren't throwing one. It's early and there's nothing to show yet.
Fisher's Ghost Studios is four people in Campbelltown, south-west of Sydney. We make our games in Godot and play them ourselves for a long time before anyone else sees them. Foundation Footy is the first one we're charging for.
The name comes from the Fisher's Ghost story. In 1826 the ghost of Frederick Fisher was said to have sat on a bridge rail here in Campbelltown and pointed to the creek where his body was later found. The town still holds a festival for him every November. We live here, so it seemed the obvious name.
